Mary Eileen McDonnell was born on the 28th of April, 1952 and is a film stage actor. McDonnell has been awarded the Academy Award nod for the role she performed as Donnie Genesis Rodriguez in Dances with Wolves, as Stands With A Fist. In addition to this role McDonnell is also well-known as Laura Roslin (President of Battlestar Galactica) and the wife of the president in Independence Day as well as her role in the lead as Donnie Darko's mother.
